Vanessa Posso is a young woman who’s definitely making things happen in the fashion world. She’s a mother, business woman and a designer! The New York “It Girl” founded her very own jewelry line Its Rich Girlz, a collection of fancy earrings, bracelets, rings, and necklaces. You may have been seen her collection on some of your favorite celebrities; VH1’s very own Basketball Wife Draya, Kimbella (Love & Hip-Hop), Lauren London, Angela Simmons, . I was able to chat with Vanessa to get an exclusive interview with her about her success as a designer and her upcoming high-fashion line, Valencia Atelier.

Briea Chanel: First of all, your successful jewelry line, Rich Girlz has been seen on countless celebrities and a few reality television shows. When did you first decide you wanted to create jewelry and what’s your favorite piece?

Vanessa Posso: I’ve always been a fan of gold jewelry since I was a kid. I used to always play with my aunt with chains and hoops. I decided to make it my career at 22. I wanted to be my own boss. My favorite piece right now are the body chains they look amazing under bathing suits, and dresses. Also the gold rich link necklace is my fav! I wear them with the rope chains I just love that style.

BC: What’s a typical day in the life of Vanessa Posso?

VP: My day starts at 8am I go to the gym then I head to the office to work. My day is a little crazy it can change at any time from meetings to manufactures to fabric to sketches. It’s not planned at all but sometimes I can be in the office shipping packages and I get a call to style a photo shoot or show.

BC: We’ve heard you have a children’s clothing line called Jada Milan, named after your beautiful daughter Jada. Does your daughter help choose the items and designs?

VP: Jada’s line started off with kids jewelry, silk jackets, and handmade bracelets. Now we are doing a whole collection of jackets, tops, bottoms. Everything is picked and designed by Jada she loves to put outfits together and says what she loves including colors and prints it’s awesome to see a three year old do these things.

BC: You’re definitely a busy woman these days, do you have any tips on how to manage multiple businesses and balancing motherhood as well?

VP: It’s very hard for me but I just always say to myself “it’s not easy but it’s worth it” At times things go super left but I get up and make them happen. My tips to all the working mommies out there is to include the kids: – teach then how to work from young age.. Organize your weekly schedule and make sure you balance your time. It may sound easy but everything I have to do I add it to my calendar it’s just easier when you organize your time.

BC: It’s no secret that you have a passion for fashion. Can you tell us a little bit about your upcoming custom dress line called Valencia Atelier? It looks amazing by the way!

VP: Valencia Atelier is going to be an awesome line! We are in the works of building our lookbook and can’t wait to show the world.

BC: What are your biggest inspirations when it comes to designing these pieces?

VP: We are inspired by high end designers. We are buying expensive and high quality fabrics including zippers and top of the line packaging, This brand will make it far!

BC: What are your ultimate goals for these businesses? Yourself?

VP: Ultimate goal to be in stores or build our own! We are working very hard to make things happen.

BC: What advice do you have for other young women aspiring to become entrepreneurs?

VP: My advice to all the young aspiring entrepreneurs is to stay grinding and never give up because the more you work and get things done the closer you are to greatness. Life isn’t easy we all go thru so many obstacles and problems but stay strong and help those that need on the way to success. God always sees the great things you have done for others.
